Summer Touring, #WillyP Graduation and Collaborations
On May 13th, I graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelors of Arts in Popular Music Studies at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Graduating has been a bittersweet experience for me. I'm going to miss all the wonderful things about being a student at William Paterson, but I'm so ready to be completely focused on my music career. Sometimes, I thought about forgoing a degree and just focusing solely on music. But, I not only wanted/want to pursue a career in music, I also wanted to be as informed as possible on the music industry and how to better my songwriting skills. So, I stuck with the Popular Music Studies program and I'm so glad that I did!
What is Popular Music Studies? I'm so glad you asked...
Social media is becoming an ever driving force in today's modern world. Not only can you use different social media platforms to market and promote yourself, but you can also use them to build a targeted audience or even raise funds to achieve a goal! There's really so much you can do. I studied effective ways to use social media with regards to marketing and promotion in music. I also learned more about songwriting and arranging and performed in a really cool pop vocal ensemble. My time at William Paterson has been some of the best years of my life (thus far lol).
Summer's already here and I'm so excited to visit some new music venues and perform! Have you checked out where I'll be this summer?
I'd also like to share with you all three songs that I recorded with songwriter and producer Frank Lerant. He's an incredibly talented songwriter, and I was so lucky to be able to have the chance to work with him! You can check out the songs below, and you can also follow Frank on SoundCloud.
My album is finally going to be released in July! Stay tuned guys!
